POSTER

Thank you for your interest in the 5th Encuentro Fronterizo / Meeting on the Border Environment “Collaborating in a Changing Border Environment”. We are excited that you are willing to participate in this year’s event. We anticipate the presence of over 200 participants from all along the border. We will begin this year with a Border Environment Bazaar, an interactive session during which participants will be able to share and exchange information and ideas about their work on the border by displaying a poster. This session will take place during the first evening of the Encuentro and will be followed by two days of participatory workshops. All will culminate in the development of agendas for border environmental action, and hopefully, collaboration in environmental projects along and across the border.

We are asking participants to prepare a poster per organization regarding their environmental related projects, for the Border Environmental Bazaar and to commit to participate in one of the four thematic tracks. The Bazaar and tracks will address this year’s themes: Environmental Consequences of Changing Border Security Policy; Water for People and Wildlife; Border Environmental Communities and the Paradigm of Smart Urban Growth; and Pollution and Health. On the next page you will find the proposed guidelines for your poster.

We expect participants to arrive Saturday, May 14th, or early Sunday, the 15th, for three days of intense interaction and participation, ending late Tuesday the 17th.

Get your poster ready and share your experiences! We’ll be expecting you!

Guidelines for Preparing a Poster to Participate in the Border Environmental Bazaar

2005 Encuentro sobre Medio Ambiente Fronterizo/Border Meeting on the Environment

The Border Environmental Bazaar will help us kick off this year’s Encuentro. It will offer each participant an opportunity to let others know who you are and what you are doing on the border. Your poster or display is your chance to represent yourself to others and will be one of approximately 100 that will be exhibited during the bazaar. The following guidelines are provided to help you make the most of this opportunity to share your work and ideas. Be creative and have fun!
